LAS VEGAS ( OLIVE RESTAURANT & CHINA POBLANO)

The next day we were pretty excited about trying some new places, so we decided to do China Poblano first. We love mexican cuisine and to have it have an asian fusion. Curious was definitely one of the word we had in mind. We got there and was told that it was tapas style which I thought was perfect for us to be able to try more of their menu. At first glance I love the look of the place. It was very cute and casual. So we started off with some tacos which comes with corn housemade tortillas. We ordered 1 chicken tinga taco and 2 braised short rib ones.

To sum everything up, the beef and the chicken tacos were ok. I just wasn't a big fan of the tortilla. We ordered some chips and salsa which was good, The salsa was very good, it had chipotle in it which brought a nice smokiness.

So we decided to move on to the next place. Todd English's restaurant to be more precise ; "Olive". I was very excited to try this place. The location is perfection, facing the Bellagio fountain , so you can enjoy the show when the water show comes on. The restaurant is elegant yet casual. The service however was not so good . But I was still eager to try the food. We decided to try the all american burger. I love a good burger, don't you? We had to wait for the food to arrive for quite a while.

The plating was not so nice unfortunately . But my enthusiasm was still alive. I think we all had some food at some point that didn't look up to par but was delicious, right? ? We had a bite and to my dismay, I was beyond disappointed . The burger was a complete let down and so was the parmesan fries. They were both tasteless. I had such high hopes! Live and learn right?
