SELF CARE

For the past couple of years, I have been trying to take better care of myself, from what I put in my body ( this is still a work in progress) to what I put on my body. Self care has always been something that came second or third to me. Starting with the little things are always the best way to go, from not forgetting to moisturise everyday, to changing a couple of things in my routine like reaching for a fruit instead of a bag of crisps. Those small changes caused a domino effect in my routine, I started using a nature approach for the things that I put on my body. Needless to say that I am always open to trying new products that will nourish my skin & hair and help it look its best.  So when Maple Holistics reached out to me try one of their shampoo, I was very excited, not only was it perfect timing, I was very excited to try a shampoo that was all natural with healing properties.

I tried the Tea tree oil Shampoo since I tend to have dry scalp as we enter the cold months and this shampoo is healing and soothes an irritated scalp. The shampoo itself is very fragrant and smells like a walk in the woods, you are probably thinking, what is she talking about? 

So let me explain, it smells like eucalyptus and lavender, it is probably the Tea tree oil, with the rosemary oil and lavender oil , all mixed together. 

The shampoo itself is really nice, my husband used it first and he loved it! His hair was really nice and soft. I couldn't wait to try it, I have sensitive scalp with a lot of hair that is quite curly. This shampoo worked its magic on my scalp and my curls, no more dry scalp after only 1 use and my frizz was tamed as well.  The shampoo itself lathers quite well, so a little bit goes a long way and you can feel the tingle of freshness as you massage it into your hair. This little bottle did wonders for us and I cannot say enough about it.   I really recommend this brand, they have so many products that look equally amazing and the great part is that they have free samples. IS IT SUMMER OR FALL?

I don't know about you but here on the East Coast, some days are very hot and some days, you get that cool crisp air on your skin and you are reminded that fall is upon us and any day now, you might wake up and this will be the weather. I love it especially when you get to wear a cute shorts and a comfy cardigan or a beautiful dress with mules. It is the perfect way to mix your wardrobe with the seasons.

WEEKEND LOOK

Every single time we go to the mall, whether it's for a quick trip to grab something small, I always make Cliff stop by Madewell with me. Poor guy! I always say that I will be in for only 5 minutes and we end up staying there way too long and I always end up buying something. The only saving grace for him is that they have a nice sitting area there and he is on the phone the whole time. The things he does for his wife. I love you babe 😘 So I am almost always wearing something from there, so this whole outfit is all Madewell. What are you doing this weekend? We are hoping to make it to the new Captain America movie this weekend and enjoy a brunch out. Fingers crossed for no rain while we are out. Have a nice weekend friends! 

LET'S FACE IT

I am on the search for a good tinted moisturizer and/ or BB cream, something that would even out my skin and still be  hydrating. So I have made a list of some of the ones that I really want to try out and of course I had to add some lipsticks that I love for the spring. As you know I love a no makeup face, so when it comes to lipstick for spring, I want a nude lip or a very soft pink.

This weekend has been pretty hectic for us here and I never thought I would say that I am happy it is monday. I have mentioned time and time again that I am not much of a makeup person but I'm trying really hard to leave the house with the lipstick or lipgloss on but one thing that I need to start paying attention to is my skin. I have recently noticed how dry my skin is and honestly, nobody wants dry skin. So now, I am on the lookout for any masks especially the overnight ones, so I can wake up with dewy skin that are well hydrated. To me, having nice skin is very important, it's like having a clean canvas for your makeup (or not)😉  I have heard so many great things about MILK and what a great product it is, so I am definitely going to try that. I have also thinking of may be adding a bit of bronzer when I go out , key word here is TRY.  It's nice sometimes to try new things and change things up, I am kind of looking forward to it

I cannot believe that the weather is starting to be a bit warm and only last week it was snowing. Though I am not a big fan of how unpredictable the weather is, I am loving being able to open the windows and let some cool air in the house. Nothing says spring like waking up to the birds chirping. I love it! Now let's talk about this outfit, I love the simplicity and ease of it. I have noticed as time goes by, I only want to wear clothes that are not fussy and most importantly being comfortable is key for me.
Now onto something else I wanted to share, I haven't been able to share recipes lately but know that it is not for lack of trying. My camera has been acting funny and to add insult to injury my Iphone does not want to take any pictures. So I am waiting patiently for thursday to come around, so I can get in line in front of the Apple Store and get that new phone. So hopefully some new recipes will be coming your way soon 😉

WEEKEND LOOK

Happy friday everyone! I love that the weekend is here and I have to say that I am so looking forward it. Today has already started off a bit bumpy but looking on the bright side, I'm sure that things will get better and better. Since Spring will be here in a couple of weeks, I'm dusting off my white jeans and of course trying to keep my layers light, so I can easily remove the coat and go on with the day. WHAT I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW

It's been a while since I shared a " What I'm Loving Right Now" post and figured it was time to get back on that train again. I haven't really had time to do some online shopping and I know that before I know it, spring will be upon us. There was so many cute things out there right and so many things are already sold out, isn't crazy? I always feel that somehow I am a bit behind but that's ok with me. I am happy to be out of that rat race and take my time with everything. I love this colour palette for spring and summer, so fresh, bright and happy. ☀️

WORKING OUT

Working out has always been something that I need a little push to get started ( or a big one 😆) but I always love it once I get started. To be completely honest, what makes working out even better is the workout clothes! They are so so cute and the best part is that there are many choices out there that are very affordable. I've noticed that I almost always come back to neutrals whether it is for house decor or wardrobe. I don't know what it is but there is always a sense of comfort and ease about it. Honestly it always looks chic and timeless too, so that helps a lot 😉 Cheers to a great week and good things happening!! 

WHAT I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW

I don't know about the weather where you guys are but here, it is so cold!  All I want to do, is stay inside and stay in my pjs but when I have to go out I have been loving just keeping things simple, sneakers, jeans and a warm coat. This is officially my winter uniform and I love it since right now I have been baking a lot so lose fitting clothes are so welcome! lol

WHAT I'M LOVING NOW

This weekend went by so fast, I cannot believe that it is monday already. I wanted to share some of my picks today since it has been a while since I've done that.  One of my favourite is this lipstick , it is so soft on your lips and doesn't dry them at all. A keeper really, always in my bag and totally worth it.  I wished that I had tried it a long time ago.

This weekend we plan on doing a whole lot of nothing except may be going to the movies, having some s'mores and I have been wanting to make some crepes ( That's a bunch of nothing in my book lol) Just low-key really. Have a great weekend everyone!

TOUCH OF PINK

There is nothing like a little touch of pink or blush when temperatures have dropped. I love that it is an instant pick me up and it is so feminine and delicate. I usually wear a lot of neutrals but having that little pop of colour is so nice. I definitely have to add more of that in my closet.

WEEKEND OUTFIT

The past couple of weeks, the weather here has been horrible, the rain hasn't stopped and it has been cold. So to run errands, I'm back to basics and I love it so much but I try to not leave the house with a little bit of colour on my lips even if it is a pale shade. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. We will try to get the house in order since my MIL is coming this week for a quick visit before we get out of the town. I can't wait to see her, she is always a lot of fun.
