I'M BACK

Image result for happy

Hi friends! I've been gone for a while and for the longest time I wasn't sure if blogs were dead or not but then I really didn't care if they were or not. I wanted to get back to sharing the things I love, my recipes and of course home decor. Also it looks like a lot of you are still around checking for updates.

Now let's do a bit of a recap of what I've been doing while I've been gone. Cliff and I have finally stopped traveling for work and we are just loving every minute of being home. I also went back to school and became a Holistic Nutritionist. You all know how much I love food, so taking that road was a no brainer.

I feel like sometimes when you step away and come back, you are flowing with ideas and have a fresh perspective. This is exactly how I feel right now. So let's do this and I will share as I go. I am so excited to be back!!

BACK HOME

We finally made it back home and it was a pretty long and weird drive. On the way back, there was so much fog in the mountains that we couldn't see anything in front of us, so creepy 😱  Have you ever seen that movie " The fog?"  I kept thinking to myself that something will come out if it and get us. I know, I have quite the imagination ( blame it on all the scary movies that I have watched) but we both had never seen fog that thick and this was the middle of the day. Yikes! All I kept thinking was "Get me out of here" Fortunately  you can see that we made it home safe and sound ( barely made it out with our lives there 😂 😉, this one is for you babe)

I am so happy to be home, in my own kitchen, my own bed. The place is a wreck  since I need to unpack and clean up but there is no place like home. Now I'm off to do my favourite thing (not) unpacking and don't worry we will back to our regular programming in the next post i.e blogpost and spare you all from my wild imagination. Have a great day guys!

HOUSE TOUR

I am so happy it's friday, yesterday Cliff and I left for what happened to be the longest road trip ever unbeknownst to us 😱. We had to leave town for his job and decided to tackle a 6.5 hrs drive that we've taken numerous time. The drive took 10 hrs since there was 3 accidents and that shut down the highway. Can you say stuck! It was the worst, not moving at all and we were both exhausted. So I welcome this beautiful friday even if it is extremely gloomy and foggy outside and there is rain. Who cares, right? As long as we are not stuck and starving in traffic. It's crazy what a new outlook does to someone. 😉 Now for the good stuff ( sorry about the rambling) Let's end this week with a beautiful house tour that belongs to Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.  Have a great weekend everyone!

ART

I have always loved perusing online and admiring beautiful prints / paintings. Let's be honest for a minute, Art is expensive! I have always been on the fence about pulling the trigger and splurging on a beautiful piece. That's why I am so glad that Minted is such a great website for beautiful prints/ Art. The choices are endless and honestly it's so hard to pick something. So this year I am putting my big girl panty on and making some purchases for our home. No more bare walls! 😆

OUTDOOR PLAN

OUTDOOR PLAN

We have been on the hunt for outdoor furniture for a while now and  let me tell that finding something that is comfy and too expensive is so hard. We finally went to Ikea this weekend which I don't recommend doing on a weekend, it's a mad house! Anyways I digress, we couldn't believe that we finally found the right furniture there! You know that I have a hate/love relationship with Ikea but this past trip was just love! We got home and measured again and if the weather is good, we will be picking up some of it tomorrow and ordering the rest online. I cannot wait to enjoy our backyard this year and have family over.

TINY BUT GORGEOUS

I don't know if you watch that show " Tiny House" but Cliff and I did out of curiosity. Some are actually pretty nice and some not so much, more like " Are you really going to move in there?" but hey whatever floats your boat, right? Well I found the most amazing tiny house ever and if I had to move into one, it will most likely be this one. It is spectacular! I love all the finishes, from the reclaimed wood beams to that gorgeous brick, this whole thing is nothing short of extraordinary.

BILLY BOOKCASE

I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I have a love/hate relationship with Ikea but one thing is for sure, there are so many hacks out there for Ikea pieces. I have to say that one of my favourite has to be the Billy bookcase! It is so versatile, easy to assemble and with a little love, it can look amazing ( see pics above) 😉We are working on our office closet now and have decided to go with one and I cannot wait to see the finish product.

FEELING NEUTRAL

I've noticed that I almost always come back to neutrals whether it is for house decor or wardrobe. I don't know what it is but there is always a sense of comfort and ease about it. Honestly it always looks chic and timeless too, so that helps a lot 😉 Cheers to a great week and good things happening!!

HOUSE TOUR

This gorgeous house has been renovated by Pencil and Paper Development Co.  They are so talented and their blog is amazing. I have been wanting to share this for a week now. Every time I share a house tour I get more inspired. If you have a moment, you should stop by their blog and take a look at their work. Brilliant!

HOUSE TOUR

I saw this beautiful tour on Architectural Digest, they had a tour of the set of the movie "The Intern" It looks amazing. I love the mix of industrial and rustic with a nod to the roots of the brownstone. It is so warm and welcoming. Can we talk about this little girl's room for a second? This room is so dreamy and girly. I would have loved having a room like this when I was a little girl with all the costumes for playing, just perfect!

HOUSE TOUR

I came across this beautiful beach condo when browsing through Coastal living. I love what they did to this condo, a mix of modern meets California surf. Don't you love this amazing view of the ocean? This to me is the perfect little getaway for anyone or the perfect home for some lucky people. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. See you on Monday!
