HOUSE TOUR

I am so happy it's friday, yesterday Cliff and I left for what happened to be the longest road trip ever unbeknownst to us 😱. We had to leave town for his job and decided to tackle a 6.5 hrs drive that we've taken numerous time. The drive took 10 hrs since there was 3 accidents and that shut down the highway. Can you say stuck! It was the worst, not moving at all and we were both exhausted. So I welcome this beautiful friday even if it is extremely gloomy and foggy outside and there is rain. Who cares, right? As long as we are not stuck and starving in traffic. It's crazy what a new outlook does to someone. 😉 Now for the good stuff ( sorry about the rambling) Let's end this week with a beautiful house tour that belongs to Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.  Have a great weekend everyone!

OUTDOOR PLAN

OUTDOOR PLAN

We have been on the hunt for outdoor furniture for a while now and  let me tell that finding something that is comfy and too expensive is so hard. We finally went to Ikea this weekend which I don't recommend doing on a weekend, it's a mad house! Anyways I digress, we couldn't believe that we finally found the right furniture there! You know that I have a hate/love relationship with Ikea but this past trip was just love! We got home and measured again and if the weather is good, we will be picking up some of it tomorrow and ordering the rest online. I cannot wait to enjoy our backyard this year and have family over.

THANKSGIVING

Happy late turkey day everyone! Could it be that I am finally feeling better? If you are nodding your head, you are right! I am so much better and I am so grateful for my health. Last week was Thanksgiving and I hope that you had an amazing time with your family and friends. Due to everybody's work schedule, it was the very first time in 10 years that Cliff and I spent Thanksgiving without any family members. It was just the two of us and it was so magical. We made a small little dinner and enjoyed this day with our hearts full. We did have another thanksgiving dinner on sunday with family which included the most non-turkey meal ever, we had smoked beef brisket, salad, potato salad. We all loved it, I think we had enough turkey by then. lol!
What I love about family gathering is love we all have for each other no matter the meal we share. We all stayed away form all the shopping mania instead opted for some quality time with some of our favourite movies (It's complicated, Life as we know it, Home Alone ...)
Also I wanted to share my table setting with all of you, keeping it simple was the goal here and also nothing better than a sweet seashell on each napkin to make this island girl happy. The pumpkins were the ones I had on the front porch for Halloween so they did double duty and I love that.

GUEST ROOM REDO

Guest room
Good morning everyone! I have been thinking of redoing the guest room for a while now. I really want  it  to be be cozy yet calm and zen so that the guests feel relax when they visit. I am hoping to have it done by the end of the year, I'm in no hurry because I do change my mind a lot. Haha! But so far this is my vision for it and who knows what it might look like when it's done, but I will post a picture when it's done until then have a lovely day everyone!

PLAID FOR THE HOME

PLAID FOR THE HOME

Everywhere I go, everyone is doing plaid and I have to say that I still love it. To me, it is fall and winters' uniform. I cannot imagine the colder season without it. You can imagine that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share some plaid love for the home as well. I love each and every pieces shown, even though I like  a traditional plaid, I love the the blues and greys even better. It might be the island girl side of me, always attracted to ocean like colours. I hope this encourages you incorporate some plaid to your home, a little shopping is good for the soul on hump day! Below are some more plaid items that I love! Enjoy friends! Have a great day!
